So they said to him, “Then what miraculous sign will you perform, so that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?

So Jesus’ brothers ¹  advised him, “Leave here and go to Judea so your disciples may see your miracles that you are performing. ² 

They replied, ¹  “You aren’t from Galilee too, are you? ²  Investigate carefully and you will see that no prophet ³  comes from Galilee!”

He replied, ¹  “I do not know whether he is a sinner. I do know one thing – that although I was blind, now I can see.”

The man replied, ¹  “This is a remarkable thing, ²  that you don’t know where he comes from, and yet he caused me to see! ³ 

Jesus replied, ¹  “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin, ²  but now because you claim that you can see, ³  your guilt ⁴  remains.” ⁵ 

Others said, “These are not the words ¹  of someone possessed by a demon. A demon cannot cause the blind to see, ²  can it?” ³ 

But some of them said, “This is the man who caused the blind man to see! ¹  Couldn’t he have done something to keep Lazarus ²  from dying?”

Thus the Pharisees ¹  said to one another, “You see that you can do nothing. Look, the world has run off after him!”

So also you have sorrow ¹  now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. ² 

So Saul got up from the ground, but although his eyes were open, ¹  he could see nothing. ²  Leading him by the hand, his companions ³  brought him into Damascus.

and he has seen in a vision ¹  a man named Ananias come in and place his hands on him so that he may see again.”

So Paul stood ¹  before the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I see that you are very religious ²  in all respects. ³ 

especially saddened ¹  by what ²  he had said, that they were not going to see him ³  again. Then they accompanied ⁴  him to the ship.

Since I could not see because of ¹  the brilliance ²  of that light, I came to Damascus led by the hand of ³  those who were with me.

“Men, I can see the voyage is going to end ¹  in disaster ²  and great loss not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.” ³ 

So for this reason I have asked to see you and speak with you, for I am bound with this chain because of the hope of Israel.” ¹ 

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, ¹  God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what should not be done. ² 

as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, to this very day.” ¹ 

but as it is written: “Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.” ¹
