He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said to him, “Sovereign Lord, you know.”

(3:31) ¹  “King Nebuchadnezzar, to all peoples, nations, and language groups that live in all the land: Peace and prosperity! ² 

So these supervisors and satraps came by collusion ¹  to the king and said ²  to him, “O King Darius, live forever!

“Is it right for you to live in richly paneled houses ¹  while my temple is in ruins? ² 

May God enlarge Japheth’s territory and numbers! ¹  May he live ²  in the tents of Shem and may Canaan be his slave!”

So Abram moved his tents and went to live ¹  by the oaks ²  of Mamre in Hebron, and he built an altar to the Lord there.

Here I am, standing by the spring, ¹  and the daughters of the people ²  who live in the town are coming out to draw water.

You will live by your sword but you will serve your brother. When you grow restless, you will tear off his yoke from your neck.” ¹ 

He then said, “Look, I hear that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy grain for us ¹  so that we may live ²  and not die.” ³ 

You will live ¹  in the land of Goshen, and you will be near me – you, your children, your grandchildren, your flocks, your herds, and everything you have.

Zebulun will live ¹  by the haven of the sea and become a haven for ships; his border will extend to Sidon. ² 

¹  “When you assist ²  the Hebrew women in childbirth, observe at the delivery: ³  If it is a son, kill him, ⁴  but if it is a daughter, she may live.” ⁵ 

But ¹  the midwives feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them; they let the boys live. ² 

Then the king of Egypt summoned ¹  the midwives and said to them, “Why have you done this and let the boys live?” ² 

Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, “All sons ¹  that are born you must throw ²  into the river, but all daughters you may let live.” ³ 

You will not eat anything made with yeast; in all the places where you live you must eat bread made without yeast.’”

“Honor ¹  your father and your mother, that you may live a long time ²  in the land ³  the Lord your God is giving to you.

They must not live in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare ¹  to you.”

This is ¹  a perpetual statute throughout your generations ²  in all the places where you live: You must never eat any fat or any blood.’” ³ 

And you must not eat any blood of the birds or the domesticated land animals in any of the places where you live. ¹
