because you have been built ¹  on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, ²  with Christ Jesus himself as ³  the cornerstone. ⁴ 

who gave himself as a ransom for all, revealing God’s purpose at his appointed time. ¹ 

For since he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

and for this reason he is obligated to make sin offerings for himself as well as for the people.

Now when God made his promise to Abraham, since he could swear by no one greater, he swore by himself,
