Yet the Lord our God is compassionate and forgiving, ¹  even though we have rebelled against him.

He will extend his power ¹  against other lands; the land of Egypt will not escape.

Although I trained and strengthened them, ¹  they plot evil against me!

Lift your hand triumphantly against your adversaries; ¹  may all your enemies be destroyed! ²

Eliab’s descendants were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. It was Dathan and Abiram who as leaders of the community rebelled against Moses and Aaron with the followers ¹  of Korah when they rebelled against the Lord.
