Two ¹  blind men were sitting by the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they shouted, ²  “Have mercy ³  on us, Lord, Son of David!” ⁴ 

The ¹  crowd scolded ²  them to get them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly, “Lord, have mercy on us, ³  Son of David!”

“Tell the people of Zion, ¹  ‘Look, your king is coming to you, unassuming and seated on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’” ² 

For just like the lightning ¹  comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

“But as for that day and hour no one knows it – not even the angels in heaven ¹  – except the Father alone.

And they knew nothing until the flood came and took them all away. ¹  It will be the same at the coming of the Son of Man. ² 

“When ¹  the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over ¹  to be crucified.” ² 

Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

Therefore go ¹  and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, ² 

But so that you may know ¹  that the Son of Man ²  has authority on earth to forgive sins,” – he said to the paralytic ³  –

And whenever the unclean spirits ¹  saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”

to James and his brother John, the sons of Zebedee, ¹  he gave the name Boanerges (that is, “sons of thunder”);

I tell you the truth, ¹  people will be forgiven for all sins, even all the blasphemies they utter. ² 

Then ¹  a cloud ²  overshadowed them, ³  and a voice came from the cloud, “This is my one dear Son. ⁴  Listen to him!” ⁵ 

A member of the crowd said to him, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that makes him mute.

Then ¹  James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom ¹  for many.”

While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he said, “How is it that the experts in the law ¹  say that the Christ ²  is David’s son? ³ 

If David himself calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” ¹  And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.
