The Lord tears down the house of the proud, ¹  but he maintains the boundaries of the widow. ² 

For where there is a will, the death of the one who made it must be proven. ¹ 

You also be patient and strengthen your hearts, for the Lord’s return is near.

Today he will affirm that you are his people and that he is your God, ¹  just as he promised you and as he swore by oath to your ancestors ²  Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ ¹  will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. ² 

Esther’s command established these matters of Purim, and the matter was officially recorded. ¹ 

When he made ¹  the force of the wind and measured ²  the waters with a gauge.

He lives in Salem; ¹  he dwells in Zion. ² 

If only I were predisposed ¹  to keep your statutes!

From eternity I was appointed, ¹  from the beginning, from before the world existed. ²

The dream was repeated to Pharaoh ¹  because the matter has been decreed ²  by God, and God will make it happen soon. ³ 

David defeated King Hadadezer of Zobah as far as Hamath, when he went to extend his authority ¹  to the Euphrates River. ² 

Solomon son of David solidified his royal authority, ¹  for ²  the Lord his God was with him and magnified him greatly.

For I long to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift ¹  to strengthen you,

Do we then nullify ¹  the law through faith? Absolutely not! Instead ²  we uphold the law.

May the Lord your God be praised because he favored ¹  you by placing you on his throne as the one ruling on his behalf! ²  Because of your God’s love for Israel and his lasting commitment to them, ³  he made you king over them so you could make just and right decisions.” ⁴ 

Early the next morning they marched out to the Desert of Tekoa. When they were ready to march, Jehoshaphat stood up and said: “Listen to me, you people of Judah ¹  and residents of Jerusalem! Trust in the Lord your God and you will be safe! ²  Trust in the message of his prophets and you will win.”
