I am depressed, ¹  so I will pray to you while I am trapped here in the region of the upper Jordan, ²  from Hermon, ³  from Mount Mizar. ⁴ 

Our ancestors in Egypt failed to appreciate your miraculous deeds, they failed to remember your many acts of loyal love, and they rebelled at the sea, by the Red Sea. ¹ 

So remember ¹  your Creator in the days of your youth – before ²  the difficult ³  days come, and the years draw near when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”;

I, I am the one who blots out your rebellious deeds for my sake; your sins I do not remember.

Lord, do not be too angry! Do not hold our sins against us continually! ¹  Take a good look at your people, at all of us! ² 

For look, I am ready to create new heavens and a new earth! ¹  The former ones ²  will not be remembered; no one will think about them anymore. ³ 

You will become fuel for the fire – your blood will stain the middle of the land; ¹  you will no longer be remembered, for I, the Lord, have spoken.’”

I will hand it over, ¹  along with the Ammonites, ²  to the tribes ³  of the east, so that the Ammonites will no longer be remembered among the nations.

They do not realize ¹  that I remember all of their wicked deeds. Their evil deeds have now surrounded them; their sinful deeds are always before me. ² 

When my life ¹  was ebbing away, ²  I called out to ³  the Lord, and my prayer came to your holy temple. ⁴ 

Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered.”

And I remembered the word of the Lord, ¹  as he used to say, ²  ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ ³ 

do not boast over the branches. But if you boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

I praise you ¹  because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions just as I passed them on to you.

Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh – who are called “uncircumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the body ¹  by human hands –

I am thankful to God, whom I have served with a clear conscience as my ancestors did, ¹  when I remember you in my prayers as I do constantly night and day. ² 

Remember those in prison as though you were in prison with them, ¹  and those ill-treated as though you too felt their torment. ² 

I will proclaim your greatness through the coming years, ¹  then the nations will praise you ²  forever.

For he knows what we are made of; ¹  he realizes ²  we are made of clay. ³ 

As I remember your tears, I long to see you, ¹  so that I may be filled with joy.
