For my days go up in smoke, ¹  and my bones are charred like a fireplace. ² 

ב (Bet) How can a young person ¹  maintain a pure life? ²  By guarding it according to your instructions! ³ 

Death and Destruction ¹  are before the Lord – how much more ²  the hearts of humans! ³ 

My lover thrust his hand ¹  through ²  the hole, ³  and my feelings ⁴  were stirred ⁵  for him.

And many will follow their debauched lifestyles. ¹  Because of these false teachers, ²  the way of truth will be slandered. ³ 

Then he will not exalt himself above his fellow citizens or turn from the commandments to the right or left, and he and his descendants will enjoy many years ruling over his kingdom ¹  in Israel.

Her ¹  leaders take bribes when they decide legal cases, ²  her priests proclaim rulings for profit, and her prophets read omens for pay. Yet they claim to trust ³  the Lord and say, “The Lord is among us. ⁴  Disaster will not overtake ⁵  us!”
