And what other great nation has statutes and ordinances as just ¹  as this whole law ²  that I am about to share with ³  you today?

You must not sacrifice to him ¹  a bull or sheep that has a blemish or any other defect, because that is considered offensive ²  to the Lord your God.

But you must not turn away from all the commandments I am giving ¹  you today, to either the right or left, nor pursue other gods and worship ²  them.

They went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods they did not know and that he did not permit them to worship. ¹
