On the third day it was Pharaoh’s birthday, so he gave a feast for all his servants. He “lifted up” ¹  the head of the chief cupbearer and the head of the chief baker in the midst of his servants.

¹ Then all the community raised a loud cry, ²  and the people wept ³  that night.

For victory does not come from the east or west, or from the wilderness. ¹ 

Rebekah looked up ¹  and saw Isaac. She got down from her camel

But when the cloud was lifted up ¹  from the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out ²  on all their journeys;

Then David and the men ¹  who were with him wept loudly ²  until they could weep no more. ³ 

if I have raised my hand ¹  to vote against the orphan, when I saw my support in the court, ² 

God says, ¹  “I will bring down all the power of the wicked; the godly will be victorious.” ² 

So they pulled Jeremiah up from the cistern with ropes. Jeremiah, however, still remained confined ¹  to the courtyard of the guardhouse.

He has brought down the mighty ¹  from their thrones, and has lifted up those of lowly position; ² 

Therefore, strengthen ¹  your listless hands and your weak knees, ² 

Then ¹  the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven

ק (Qof) Get up! Cry out in the night ¹  when the night watches start! ²  Pour out your heart ³  like water before the face of the Lord! ⁴  Lift up your hands ⁵  to him for your children’s lives; ⁶  they are fainting ⁷  at every street corner. ⁸ 

In three more days Pharaoh will reinstate you ¹  and restore you to your office. You will put Pharaoh’s cup in his hand, just as you did before ²  when you were cupbearer.

Whom have you taunted and hurled insults at? At whom have you shouted, ¹  and looked so arrogantly? ²  At the Holy One of Israel! ³ 

May I hear about your loyal love in the morning, ¹  for I trust in you. Show me the way I should go, ²  because I long for you. ³ 

The Lord who commands armies is about to beat them ¹  with a whip, similar to the way he struck down Midian at the rock of Oreb. ²  He will use his staff against the sea, lifting it up as he did in Egypt. ³ 

O Lord, you are ready to act, ¹  but they don’t even notice. They will see and be put to shame by your angry judgment against humankind, ²  yes, fire will consume your enemies. ³ 

Whom have you taunted and hurled insults at? At whom have you shouted and looked so arrogantly? ¹  At the Holy One of Israel! ² 

After Lot had departed, the Lord said to Abram, ¹  “Look ²  from the place where you stand to the north, south, east, and west.
