“Do you think this to be ¹  just: when ²  you say, ‘My right before God.’ ³ 

Indeed, God is mighty; and he does not despise people, ¹  he ²  is mighty, and firm ³  in his intent. ⁴ 

For this reason ¹  the wicked cannot withstand ²  judgment, ³  nor can sinners join the assembly of the godly. ⁴ 

May lying lips be silenced – lips ¹  that speak defiantly against the innocent ²  with arrogance and contempt!

For they do not try to make peace with others, ¹  but plan ways to deceive those who are unsuspecting. ² 

As for me, you uphold ¹  me because of my integrity; ²  you allow ³  me permanent access to your presence. ⁴ 

Do not sit in judgment on ¹  your servant, for no one alive is innocent before you. ² 

For the upright will reside in the land, and those with integrity ¹  will remain in it,

All a person’s ways ¹  seem right ²  in his own opinion, ³  but the Lord evaluates ⁴  the motives. ⁵ 

The Lord abhors ¹  every arrogant person; ²  rest assured ³  that they will not go unpunished. ⁴ 

When ¹  they had heard my case, ²  they wanted to release me, ³  because there was no basis for a death sentence ⁴  against me.

Then Saul said, “O Lord God of Israel! If this sin has been committed by me or by my son Jonathan, then, O Lord God of Israel, respond with Urim. But if this sin has been committed by your people Israel, respond with Thummim.” ¹  Then Jonathan and Saul were indicated by lot, while the army was exonerated. ² 

So the Lord replied, “If I find in the city of Sodom fifty godly people, I will spare the whole place for their sake.”

But if the woman has not defiled herself, and is clean, then she will be free of ill effects ¹  and will be able to bear children.

We will be innocent if we carefully keep all these commandments ¹  before the Lord our God, just as he demands.” ² 

Samson said to them, ¹  “This time I am justified in doing the Philistines harm!” ² 

He said to David, “You are more innocent ¹  than I, for you have treated me well, even though I have tried to harm you!

But David said to Abishai, “Don’t kill him! Who can extend his hand against the Lord’s chosen one ¹  and remain guiltless?”

if you become ¹  pure ²  and upright, ³  even now he will rouse himself ⁴  for you, and will restore ⁵  your righteous abode. ⁶ 

He does not take his eyes ¹  off the righteous; but with kings on the throne he seats the righteous ²  and exalts them forever. ³
