Pharaoh said, “I will release you ¹  so that you may sacrifice ²  to the Lord your God in the desert. Only you must not go very far. ³  Do ⁴  pray for me.”

Moses ¹  said, “It is not the sound of those who shout for victory, ²  nor is it the sound of those who cry because they are overcome, ³  but the sound of singing ⁴  I hear.” ⁵ 

“Obey ¹  what I am commanding you this day. I am going to drive out ²  before you the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

Moses said, “The people around me ¹  are 600,000 on foot; ²  but you say, ‘I will give them meat, ³  that they may eat ⁴  for a whole month.’

And what other great nation has statutes and ordinances as just ¹  as this whole law ²  that I am about to share with ³  you today?

So I must die here in this land; I will not cross the Jordan. But you are going over and will possess that ¹  good land.

Be sure you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping his commandments, ordinances, and statutes that I am giving you today.

the blessing if you take to heart ¹  the commandments of the Lord your God that I am giving you today,

for you may do so ¹  only in the place the Lord chooses in one of your tribal areas – there you may do everything I am commanding you. ² 

(13:1) ¹  You ²  must be careful to do everything I am commanding you. Do not add to it or subtract from it! ³ 

if you carefully obey ¹  him ²  by keeping ³  all these commandments that I am giving ⁴  you today.

Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you; therefore, I am commanding you to do this thing today.

I will personally hold responsible ¹  anyone who then pays no attention to the words that prophet ²  speaks in my name.

Then Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people: “Pay attention to all the commandments ¹  I am giving ²  you today.

So when you cross the Jordan you must erect on Mount Ebal ¹  these stones about which I am commanding you today, and you must cover them with plaster.

You must obey him ¹  and keep his commandments and statutes that I am giving you today.”

But you must not turn away from all the commandments I am giving ¹  you today, to either the right or left, nor pursue other gods and worship ²  them.

Then if you and your descendants ¹  turn to the Lord your God and obey him with your whole mind and being ²  just as ³  I am commanding you today,
