These four were the descendants of Rapha who lived in Gath; they were killed ¹  by David and his soldiers. ²

So the Lord sent a plague through Israel, and 70,000 Israelite men died.

They cast lots to determine their responsibilities – oldest as well as youngest, teacher as well as student. ¹ 

Look, our fathers died violently ¹  and our sons, daughters, and wives were carried off ²  because of this.

In a dream, a night vision, when deep sleep falls on people as they sleep in their beds.

Condemn them, ¹  O God! May their own schemes be their downfall! ²  Drive them away ³  because of their many acts of insurrection, ⁴  for they have rebelled against you.

When evil men attack me ¹  to devour my flesh, ²  when my adversaries and enemies attack me, ³  they stumble and fall. ⁴ 

Let destruction take them by surprise! ¹  Let the net they hid catch them! Let them fall into destruction! ² 

I can see the evildoers! They have fallen! ¹  They have been knocked down and are unable to get up! ² 

Evil men draw their swords and prepare their bows, to bring down ¹  the oppressed and needy, and to slaughter those who are godly. ² 

Your arrows are sharp and penetrate the hearts of the king’s enemies. Nations fall at your feet. ¹ 

They have prepared a net to trap me; ¹  I am discouraged. ²  They have dug a pit for me. ³  They will fall ⁴  into it! (Selah)
