When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, ¹ 

When John’s ¹  disciples heard this, they came and took his body and placed it in a tomb.

Then ¹  he called the crowd again and said to them, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand.

People were completely astounded and said, “He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

Though you have eyes, don’t you see? And though you have ears, can’t you hear? ¹  Don’t you remember?

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. ¹ 

When they heard this, they were delighted ¹  and promised to give him money. ²  So ³  Judas ⁴  began looking for an opportunity to betray him.

You have heard the blasphemy! What is your verdict?” ¹  They all condemned him as deserving death.

“But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies, ¹  do good to those who hate you,

(Now ¹  all the people who heard this, even the tax collectors, ²  acknowledged ³  God’s justice, because they had been baptized ⁴  with John’s baptism.

But when Jesus heard this, he told ¹  him, “Do not be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.” ² 

But he replied, ¹  “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey ²  it!”

but ¹  they could not find a way to do it, ²  for all the people hung on his words. ³ 

Then ¹  they said, “Why do we need further testimony? We have heard it ourselves ²  from his own lips!” ³ 

He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.

When they heard these words, some of the crowd ¹  began to say, “This really ²  is the Prophet!” ³ 

Why don’t you understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot accept ¹  my teaching. ² 

All who came before me were ¹  thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. ² 

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! ¹  Why do you listen to him?”

My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
