For the one who enters God’s ¹  rest has also rested from his works, just as God did from his own works.

Thus we must make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, ¹  since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,

But ¹  after three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and tremendous fear seized ²  those who were watching them.

and the temple was filled with smoke from God’s glory and from his power. Thus ¹  no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues from the seven angels were completed.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, ¹  it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven!

For in those days before the flood, people ¹  were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark.
