Then ¹  Peter ²  took hold ³  of him by the right hand and raised him up, and at once the man’s ⁴  feet and ankles were made strong. ⁵ 

“Tell ¹  all the leaders of Shechem this: ‘Why would you want ²  to have seventy men, all Jerub-Baal’s sons, ruling over you, when you can have just one ruler? Recall that I am your own flesh and blood.’” ³ 

When their close relatives, the ones who will burn the corpses, ¹  pick up their bodies to remove the bones from the house, they will say to anyone who is in the inner rooms of the house, “Is anyone else with you?” He will respond, “Be quiet! Don’t invoke the Lord’s name!” ² 

then ¹  let my arm fall from the shoulder, ²  let my arm be broken off at the socket. ³ 

As I watched, I saw ¹  tendons on them, then muscles appeared, ²  and skin covered over them from above, but there was no breath ³  in them.

When he got home, he took a knife, grabbed his concubine, and carved her up into twelve pieces. ¹  Then he sent the pieces throughout Israel. ² 

There ¹  the wicked ²  cease ³  from turmoil, ⁴  and there the weary ⁵  are at rest.

By the brush ¹  they would gather ²  herbs from the salt marshes, ³  and the root of the broom tree was their food.

The godly speak wise words and promote justice. ¹ 

They wander around looking for something to eat; they refuse to sleep until they are full. ¹ 

They will be spread out and exposed to the sun, the moon and the stars. ¹  These are things they ²  adored and served, things to which they paid allegiance, ³  from which they sought guidance, and worshiped. The bones of these people ⁴  will never be regathered and reburied. They will be like manure used to fertilize the ground. ⁵ 

Then ¹  seven other cows came up after them; they were scrawny, very bad-looking, and lean. I had never seen such bad-looking cows ²  as these in all the land of Egypt!

He happened to see ¹  a solid ²  jawbone of a donkey. He grabbed it ³  and struck down ⁴  a thousand men.

When he finished speaking, he threw the jawbone down ¹  and named that place Ramath Lehi. ² 

Rise up, ¹  Lord! Deliver me, my God! Yes, ²  you will strike ³  all my enemies on the jaw; you will break the teeth ⁴  of the wicked. ⁵

Then the Lord God made ¹  a woman from the part he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

a woman threw an upper millstone ¹  down on his ²  head and shattered his skull.

But when they went to bury her, they found nothing left but ¹  the skull, feet, and palms of the hands.
