So the Israelites assigned to the Levites by lot these cities and their grazing areas, as the Lord had instructed Moses.

The priests descended from Aaron received thirteen cities and their grazing areas.

Kibzaim, and Beth Horon, along with the grazing areas of each – a total of four cities.

Aijalon, and Gath Rimmon, along with the grazing areas of each – a total of four cities.

Jarmuth, and En Gannim, along with the grazing areas of each – a total of four cities;

Heshbon, and Jazer, along with the grazing areas of each – a total of four cities.

The Levites received within the land owned by the Israelites ¹  forty-eight cities in all and their grazing areas.

Each of these cities had grazing areas around it; they were alike in this regard. ¹ 

He built the Upper Gate to the Lord’s temple and did a lot of work on the wall in the area known as Ophel. ¹ 

Then you will understand ¹  righteousness and justice and equity – every ²  good ³  way. ⁴ 

The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, ¹  but the faithless will be captured ²  by their own desires. ³ 

The wicked person ¹  earns ²  deceitful wages, ³  but the one who sows ⁴  righteousness reaps ⁵  a genuine ⁶  reward. ⁷ 

In the path of righteousness there is life, but another path leads to death. ¹ 

Righteousness ¹  guards the one who lives with integrity, ²  but wickedness ³  overthrows the sinner.

Righteousness exalts ¹  a nation, but sin is a disgrace ²  to any people.

The Lord abhors ¹  the way of the wicked, but he loves those ²  who pursue ³  righteousness.

Doing wickedness ¹  is an abomination to kings, because a throne ²  is established in righteousness.

remove the wicked from before the king, ¹  and his throne ²  will be established in righteousness. ³ 

¹ I was beside myself with joy! ²  There please give me your myrrh, ³  O daughter of my princely people. ⁴ 

¹ The way of the righteous is level, the path of the righteous that you make is straight. ²
