For her ¹  benefit ²  is more profitable ³  than silver, and her ⁴  gain ⁵  is better ⁶  than gold.

Like a muddied ¹  spring and a polluted ²  well, so is a righteous person who gives way ³  before the wicked.

Send ¹  your grain ²  overseas, ³  for after many days you will get a return. ⁴ 

And do not lead us into temptation, ¹  but deliver us from the evil one. ² 

By itself the soil produces a crop, first the stalk, then the head, then the full grain in the head.

Peter began to speak to him, “Look, ¹  we have left everything to follow you!” ² 

Then ¹  a voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. ²  Listen to him!” ³ 

Because he could not be persuaded, ¹  we said no more except, ²  “The Lord’s will be done.” ³ 

You were bought with a price. Do not become slaves of men.

They must not slander ¹  anyone, but be peaceable, gentle, showing complete courtesy to all people.

But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is useless and about to be cursed; ¹  its fate is to be burned.

Then ¹  he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land sprouted with a harvest.

But he urged ¹  them persistently, so they turned aside with him and entered his house. He prepared a feast for them, including bread baked without yeast, and they ate.

“Very well,” he replied, ¹  “I will grant this request too ²  and will not overthrow ³  the town you mentioned.

So his father Isaac said to him, “Indeed, ¹  your home will be away from the richness ²  of the earth, and away from the dew of the sky above.

When Jacob finished giving these instructions to his sons, he pulled his feet up onto the bed, breathed his last breath, and went ¹  to his people.

You must not have sexual intercourse ¹  with any animal to become defiled with it, and a woman must not stand before an animal to have sexual intercourse with it; ²  it is a perversion. ³ 

Six years you may sow your field, and six years you may prune your vineyard and gather the produce, ¹ 

I will break your strong pride and make your sky like iron and your land like bronze.

¹ Now the mixed multitude ²  who were among them craved more desirable foods, ³  and so the Israelites wept again ⁴  and said, “If only we had meat to eat! ⁵
