But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is here! Come out to meet him.’ ¹ 

These are the ones sown on rocky ground: As soon as they hear the word, they receive it with joy.

He came to what was his own, ¹  but ²  his own people ³  did not receive him. ⁴ 

Because they had heard that Jesus ¹  had performed this miraculous sign, the crowd went out to meet him.

They ¹  continued to stone Stephen while he prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!”

and he made no distinction ¹  between them and us, cleansing ²  their hearts by faith.

Most excellent Felix, ¹  we acknowledge this everywhere and in every way ²  with all gratitude. ³ 

Now I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant ¹  of the church in Cenchrea,

And with this confidence I intended to come to you first so that you would get a second opportunity to see us, ¹

“For the Lord disciplines the one he loves and chastises every son he accepts.” ¹ 

For thus an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be richly provided for you.

Therefore we ¹  ought to support such people, so that we become coworkers in cooperation with the truth. ² 

The two angels came to Sodom in the evening while ¹  Lot was sitting in the city’s gateway. ²  When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face toward the ground.

These Jews ¹  were more open-minded ²  than those in Thessalonica, ³  for they eagerly ⁴  received ⁵  the message, examining ⁶  the scriptures carefully every day ⁷  to see if these things were so.

For he says, “I heard you at the acceptable time, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” ¹  Look, now is the acceptable time; look, now is the day of salvation!

And so ¹  we too constantly thank God that when you received God’s message that you heard from us, ²  you accepted it not as a human message, ³  but as it truly is, God’s message, which is at work among you who believe.

So tell them ¹  you are my sister ²  so that it may go well ³  for me because of you and my life will be spared ⁴  on account of you.”

Laban said to him, ¹  “Come, you who are blessed by the Lord! ²  Why are you standing out here when I have prepared ³  the house and a place for the camels?”

Esau ¹  then asked, “What did you intend ²  by sending all these herds to meet me?” ³  Jacob ⁴  replied, “To find favor in your sight, my lord.”
