Nicodemus, the man who had previously come to Jesus ¹  at night, ²  accompanied Joseph, ³  carrying a mixture of myrrh and aloes ⁴  weighing about seventy-five pounds. ⁵ 

“And you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, ‘This is what you have said: “Our rebellious acts and our sins have caught up with us, ¹  and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?”’

The bronze of the wave offering was seventy talents and 2,400 shekels. ¹

For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, for the oppression ¹  of the king ²  is severe upon his victim. ³

But Mary treasured up all these words, pondering in her heart what they might mean. ¹ 

For ¹  this is the love of God: ²  that we keep his commandments. ³  And his commandments do not weigh us down,
