So Abraham’s servant ¹  went to the house and unloaded ²  the camels. Straw and feed were given ³  to the camels, and water was provided so that he and the men who were with him could wash their feet. ⁴ 

“You are also to make a large bronze ¹  basin with a bronze stand ²  for washing. You are to put it between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it, ³ 

Anyone who touches any furniture she sits on must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

as water wears away stones, and torrents ¹  wash away the soil, ²  so you destroy man’s hope. ³ 

he saved us not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit,

They served only for matters of food and drink ¹  and various washings; they are external regulations ²  imposed until the new order came. ³ 

but the entrails and the legs he washed with water, ¹  and Moses offered the whole ram up in smoke on the altar – it was a burnt offering for a soothing aroma, a gift to the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. ² 

The priest must then examine the scall on the seventh day, and if ¹  the scall has not spread on the skin and it does not appear to be deeper than the skin, ²  then the priest is to pronounce him clean. ³  So he is to wash his clothes and be clean.

Anyone who touches anything that was under him ¹  will be unclean until evening, and the one who carries those items ²  must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.

“‘When the man with the discharge becomes clean from his discharge he is to count off for himself seven days for his purification, and he must wash his clothes, bathe in fresh water, ¹  and be clean.

So the Pharisees asked him again how he had gained his sight. ¹  He replied, ²  “He put mud ³  on my eyes and I washed, and now ⁴  I am able to see.”

So when Jesus ¹  had washed their feet and put his outer clothing back on, he took his place at the table ²  again and said to them, “Do you understand ³  what I have done for you?

So ¹  I said to him, “My lord, you know the answer.” ²  Then ³  he said to me, “These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. They ⁴  have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb!

Then David said to Uriah, “Go down to your home and relax.” ¹  When Uriah left the palace, the king sent a gift to him. ² 

The Beloved to Her Lover: “I have already taken off my robe – must I put it on again? I have already washed my feet – must I soil them again?”

At that time ¹  she became sick ²  and died. When they had washed ³  her body, ⁴  they placed it in an upstairs room.

At ¹  that hour of the night he took them ²  and washed their wounds; ³  then ⁴  he and all his family ⁵  were baptized right away. ⁶ 

Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have access ¹  to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates.

men ¹  who were carried off ²  before their time, ³  when the flood ⁴  was poured out ⁵  on their foundations? ⁶ 

when my steps ¹  were bathed ²  with butter ³  and the rock poured out for me streams of olive oil! ⁴
