“Everything devoted ¹  in Israel will be yours.

Jonathan once again took an oath with David, because he loved him. In fact Jonathan loved him as much as he did his own life. ¹ 

But the Lord became angry with me because of you and vowed that I would never cross the Jordan nor enter the good land that he ¹  is about to give you. ² 

She said to him, “My father, since ¹  you made an oath to the Lord, do to me as you promised. ²  After all, the Lord vindicated you before ³  your enemies, the Ammonites.”

Then Paul took the men the next day, ¹  and after he had purified himself ²  along with them, he went to the temple and gave notice ³  of the completion of the days of purification, ⁴  when ⁵  the sacrifice would be offered for each ⁶  of them.

So the anger of the Lord was kindled that day, and he swore,

When the Lord heard you, he became angry and made this vow: ¹ 

Jehoash said to the priests, “I place at your disposal ¹  all the consecrated silver that has been brought to the Lord’s temple, including the silver collected from the census tax, ²  the silver received from those who have made vows, ³  and all the silver that people have voluntarily contributed to the Lord’s temple. ⁴ 

Once and for all I have vowed by my own holiness, I will never deceive ¹  David.

But I say to you, do not take oaths at all – not by heaven, because it is the throne of God,

For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, “As I swore in my anger, ‘They will never enter my rest!’” ¹  And yet God’s works ²  were accomplished from the foundation of the world.

If, however, the person who made the vow redeems the animal, ¹  he must add one fifth to ²  its conversion value.

“‘All the days that he separates himself to the Lord he must not contact ¹  a dead body. ² 

Jonathan made a covenant with David, for he loved him as much as he did his own life. ¹ 

But Saul swore an oath to her by the Lord, “As surely as the Lord lives, you will not incur guilt in this matter!”

The king replied to him, “Go in peace.” So Absalom ¹  got up and went to Hebron.

Please remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, the covenant of the priesthood, ¹  and the Levites.

So he made a solemn vow ¹  that he would make them die ²  in the desert,

The Lord makes this promise on oath ¹  and will not revoke it: ²  “You are an eternal priest ³  after the pattern of ⁴  Melchizedek.” ⁵ 

I have vowed and solemnly sworn to keep your just regulations.
