For she kept saying to herself, ¹  “If only I touch his cloak, I will be healed.” ² 

When they saw him walking on the water ¹  they thought he was a ghost. They ²  cried out,

But when Jesus discerned their innermost thoughts, ¹  he took a child, had him stand by ²  his side,

He became hungry and wanted to eat, but while they were preparing the meal, a trance came over him. ¹ 

Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to arouse its desires. ¹ 

And you were at one time strangers and enemies in your ¹  minds ²  as expressed through ³  your evil deeds,

But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.

When such a person ¹  hears the words of this oath he secretly ²  blesses himself ³  and says, “I will have peace though I continue to walk with a stubborn spirit.” ⁴  This will destroy ⁵  the watered ground with the parched. ⁶ 

The Gazites were told, ¹  “Samson has come here!” So they surrounded the town ²  and hid all night at the city gate, waiting for him to leave. ³  They relaxed ⁴  all night, thinking, ⁵  “He will not leave ⁶  until morning comes; ⁷  then we will kill him!”

So Sarah laughed to herself, thinking, ¹  “After I am worn out will I have pleasure, ²  especially when my husband is old too?” ³ 

Be careful ¹  not to say, “My own ability and skill ²  have gotten me this wealth.”

However, Saul said nothing about it ¹  that day, for he thought, ²  “Something has happened to make him ceremonially unclean. Yes, he must be unclean.”

When these things had been accomplished ¹  and the rage of King Ahasuerus had diminished, he remembered ²  Vashti and what she had done and what had been decided ³  against her.

May the evil deeds of the wicked ¹  come to an end! ²  But make the innocent ³  secure, ⁴  O righteous God, you who examine ⁵  inner thoughts and motives! ⁶ 

Moreover, keep me from committing flagrant ¹  sins; do not allow such sins to control me. ²  Then I will be blameless, and innocent of blatant ³  rebellion.

Those who see you stare at you, they look at you carefully, thinking: ¹  “Is this the man who shook the earth, the one who made kingdoms tremble?

“As for you, son of man, turn toward ¹  the daughters of your people who are prophesying from their imagination. ²  Prophesy against them

Because he considered ¹  and turned from all the sins he had done, he will surely live; he will not die.

“‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind, ¹  and you will devise an evil plan.

But they do not know what the Lord is planning; they do not understand his strategy. He has gathered them like stalks of grain to be threshed ¹  at the threshing floor.
