Deliver by your power ¹  and answer me, ²  so that the ones you love may be safe. ³ 

when God arose to execute judgment, and to deliver all the oppressed of the earth. (Selah)

In the sight of Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh reveal ¹  your power! Come and deliver us! ² 

Brothers and sisters, ¹  my heart’s desire and prayer to God on behalf of my fellow Israelites ²  is for their salvation.

They replied, “You have saved our lives! You are showing us favor, ¹  and we will be Pharaoh’s slaves.” ² 

Now ¹  let me give you some advice as to how ²  you can save your life and your son Solomon’s life.

Where ¹  then is your king, that he may save you in all your cities? Where are ²  your rulers for whom you asked, saying, “Give me a king and princes”?

But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, ¹  “Lord, save me!”

You will be hated by everyone because of my name. ¹  But the one who endures to the end will be saved. ² 

Those along the path are the ones who have heard; then the devil ¹  comes and takes away the word ²  from their hearts, so that they may not believe ³  and be saved.

One of the criminals who was hanging there railed at him, saying, “Aren’t ¹  you the Christ? ²  Save yourself and us!”

praising God and having the good will ¹  of all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number every day ²  those who were being saved.

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people ¹  by which we must ²  be saved.”

Now some men came down from Judea ¹  and began to teach the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised ²  according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

and by which you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message I preached to you – unless you believed in vain.

For by grace you are saved ¹  through faith, ²  and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God;

and with every kind of evil deception directed against ¹  those who are perishing, because they found no place in their hearts for the truth ²  so as to be saved.

This saying ¹  is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” – and I am the worst of them! ² 

So he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

“How you have helped ¹  the powerless! ²  How you have saved the person who has no strength! ³
