Now in a wealthy home ¹  there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also ones made of wood and of clay, and some are for honorable use, but others for ignoble use. ² 

So if someone cleanses himself of such behavior, ¹  he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart, useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

Yet she went into captivity as an exile; ¹  even her infants were smashed to pieces ²  at the head of every street. They cast lots ³  for her nobility; ⁴  all her dignitaries were bound with chains.

Finally, brothers and sisters, ¹  whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.

So the princes of Moab departed ¹  and went back to Balak and said, “Balaam refused to come with us.”

Balak again sent princes, ¹  more numerous and more distinguished than the first. ² 

And Balak sacrificed bulls and sheep, and sent some ¹  to Balaam, and to the princes who were with him.

So he returned to him, and he was still ¹  standing by his burnt offering, he and all the princes of Moab.

The matter seemed appropriate to the king and the officials. So the king acted on the advice of Memucan.

It is as if I have been given fertile fields or received a beautiful tract of land. ¹ 

They come with red cloth ¹  from Egypt, Ethiopia ²  voluntarily offers tribute ³  to God.

He would pour ¹  contempt upon princes, and he made them wander in a wasteland with no road.

I realize that everything has its limits, but your commands are beyond full comprehension. ¹ 

“Many ¹  daughters ²  have done valiantly, ³  but you surpass them all!”

Sing to the Lord, for he has done magnificent things, let this be known ¹  throughout the earth!

And let us take thought of how to spur one another on to love and good works, ¹ 

King Jehoiachin of Judah, along with his mother, his servants, his officials, and his eunuchs surrendered ¹  to the king of Babylon. The king of Babylon, in the eighth year of his reign, ²  took Jehoiachin ³  prisoner.
