Acquire wisdom, acquire understanding; do not forget and do not turn aside from the words I speak. ¹ 

I will guide you ¹  in the way of wisdom and I will lead you in upright paths. ² 

A man who commits adultery with a woman lacks wisdom, ¹  whoever does it destroys his own life. ² 

and I saw among the naive – I discerned among the youths ¹  – a young man ²  who lacked wisdom. ³ 

Carrying out a wicked scheme ¹  is enjoyable ²  to a fool, and so is wisdom for the one who has discernment. ³ 

The speech ¹  of the righteous bears the fruit of wisdom, ²  but the one who speaks perversion ³  will be destroyed. ⁴ 

A person ¹  is praised in accordance with ²  his wisdom, but the one who has a twisted mind ³  is despised.

The one who works ¹  his field will have plenty ²  of food, but whoever chases daydreams ³  lacks wisdom. ⁴ 

The wisdom of the shrewd person ¹  is to discern ²  his way, but the folly of fools is deception. ³ 

Wisdom rests in the heart of the discerning; it is known ¹  even in the heart ²  of fools.

How much better it is to acquire ¹  wisdom than gold; to acquire understanding is more desirable ²  than silver.

Of what ¹  use is money in the hand of a fool, ²  since he has no intention ³  of acquiring wisdom? ⁴ 

The one who lacks wisdom ¹  strikes hands in pledge, ²  and puts up financial security ³  for his neighbor. ⁴ 

A person’s wisdom ¹  makes him slow to anger, ²  and it is his glory ³  to overlook ⁴  an offense.

The one who wanders ¹  from the way of wisdom ²  will end up ³  in the company of the departed. ⁴ 

There is no wisdom and there is no understanding, and there is no counsel against ¹  the Lord. ² 

Do not speak in the ears of a fool, ¹  for he will despise the wisdom of your words. ² 

The prince who is a great oppressor lacks wisdom, ¹  but the one who hates ²  unjust gain will prolong his days.

The one who trusts in his own heart ¹  is a fool, but the one who walks in wisdom ²  will escape. ³ 

The man ¹  who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, ²  but whoever associates ³  with prostitutes wastes ⁴  his wealth. ⁵
