They said ¹  to him, “Where is that man?” ²  He replied, ³  “I don’t know.”

He asked, ¹  “Where have you laid him?” ²  They replied, ³  “Lord, come and see.”

(Now there were many lamps ¹  in the upstairs room where we were meeting.) ² 

For the law brings wrath, because where there is no law there is no transgression ¹  either.

If they were all the same member, where would the body be?

The Maidens to the Beloved: Where has your beloved gone, O most beautiful among women? Where has your beloved turned? Tell us, ¹  that we may seek him with you. ² 

In the past he said to them, ¹  “This is where security can be found. Provide security for the one who is exhausted! This is where rest can be found.” ²  But they refused to listen.

Every living creature which swarms where the river ¹  flows will live; there will be many fish, for these waters flow there. It will become fresh ²  and everything will live where the river flows.

Where ¹  then is your king, that he may save you in all your cities? Where are ²  your rulers for whom you asked, saying, “Give me a king and princes”?

Then the one who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Sir, I knew that you were a hard man, harvesting where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed,

The wind ¹  blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” ² 

The name of the first is Pishon; it runs through ¹  the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold.
