For the king knows about these things, and I am speaking freely ¹  to him, ²  because I cannot believe ³  that any of these things has escaped his notice, ⁴  for this was not done in a corner. ⁵ 

speaking of these things in all his letters. ¹  Some things in these letters ²  are hard to understand, things ³  the ignorant and unstable twist ⁴  to their own destruction, as they also do to the rest of the scriptures. ⁵ 

The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become bread.” ¹ 

Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these!

But above all pursue his kingdom ¹  and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the crowds; he did not speak to them without a parable.

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a person.

These are the things that defile a person; it is not eating with unwashed hands that defiles a person.” ¹ 

In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that one of these little ones be lost.

Now when ¹  Jesus finished these sayings, he left Galilee and went to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan River. ² 

The young man said to him, “I have wholeheartedly obeyed ¹  all these laws. ²  What do I still lack?”

So also you, when you see all these things, know ¹  that he is near, right at the door.

I tell you the truth, ¹  this generation ²  will not pass away until all these things take place.

Now some of the experts in the law ¹  were sitting there, turning these things over in their minds: ² 

So he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Stand up among all these people.” ¹ 

These are the ones sown on rocky ground: As soon as they hear the word, they receive it with joy.

So ¹  with many parables like these, he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear.

His disciples answered him, “Where can someone get enough bread in this desolate place to satisfy these people?”

They ¹  devour widows’ property, ²  and as a show make long prayers. These men will receive a more severe punishment.”

So also you, when you see these things happening, know ¹  that he is near, right at the door.
