But he answered them, ¹  “You ²  give them something to eat.” And they said, “Should we go and buy bread for two hundred silver coins ³  and give it to them to eat?”

Won’t ¹  the master ²  instead say to him, ‘Get my dinner ready, and make yourself ready ³  to serve me while ⁴  I eat and drink. Then ⁵  you may eat and drink’?

But you who eat vegetables only – why do you judge your brother or sister? ¹  And you who eat everything – why do you despise your brother or sister? ²  For we will all stand before the judgment seat ³  of God.

Then the Lord God commanded ¹  the man, “You may freely eat ²  fruit ³  from every tree of the orchard,

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat ¹  of the fruit from the trees of the orchard;

It will produce thorns and thistles for you, but you will eat the grain ¹  of the field.

You may eat any moving thing that lives. ¹  As I gave you ²  the green plants, I now give ³  you everything.

Then you will take ¹  it to your father. Thus he will eat it ²  and ³  bless you before he dies.”

But everyone’s servant who is bought for money, after you have circumcised him, may eat it.

Any male among the priests may eat it. It must be eaten in a holy place. It is most holy. ¹ 

You must not eat from their meat and you must not touch their carcasses; ¹  they are unclean to you.

Since they are detestable to you, you must not eat their meat and their carcass you must detest.

“‘Now if an animal ¹  that you may eat dies, ²  whoever touches its carcass will be unclean until the evening.

“‘You must not eat anything with the blood still in it. ¹  You must not practice either divination or soothsaying. ² 

If a priest’s daughter marries a lay person, ¹  she may not eat the holy contribution offerings, ² 

your cattle, and the wild animals that are in your land – all its produce will be for you ¹  to eat.

Because that year is a jubilee, it will be holy to you – you may eat its produce ¹  from the field.

If you say, ‘What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not sow and gather our produce?’

You will eat, not just one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days,

and you eat ¹  some of the food of the land, you must offer up a raised offering ²  to the Lord.
