Then Isaac built an altar there and worshiped ¹  the Lord. He pitched his tent there, and his servants dug a well. ² 

He built an altar there and named the place El Bethel ¹  because there God had revealed himself ²  to him when he was fleeing from his brother.

But if a man willfully attacks his neighbor to kill him cunningly, ¹  you will take him even from my altar that he may die.

Moses took half of the blood and put it in bowls, and half of the blood he splashed on the altar. ¹ 

The poles are to be put ¹  into the rings so that the poles will be on two sides of the altar when carrying it. ² 

You are to make the altar hollow, out of boards. Just as it was shown you ¹  on the mountain, so they must make it. ²

and the gold altar, and the anointing oil, and the fragrant incense; and the curtain for the entrance to the tent;

You are to put ¹  the gold altar for incense in front of the ark of the testimony and put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle.

You are to put the altar for the burnt offering in front of the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.

Then he put the large basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it ¹  for washing.

Whenever they entered ¹  the tent of meeting, and whenever they approached ²  the altar, they would wash, ³  just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

And he set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and the altar, and put the curtain at the gate of the courtyard. So Moses finished the work.

Then the sons of Aaron, the priests, must arrange the parts with the head and the suet ¹  on the wood that is in the fire on the altar. ² 

“‘You must bring the grain offering that must be made from these to the Lord. Present it to the priest, ¹  and he will bring it to the altar.

You can present them to the Lord as an offering of first fruit, ¹  but they must not go up to the altar for a soothing aroma.

lay his hand on its head, and slaughter it before the Meeting Tent, and the sons of Aaron must splash its blood against the altar’s sides.

Then the priest must offer them up in smoke on the altar as a food gift for a soothing aroma – all the fat belongs to the Lord.
