Who can endure the day of his coming? Who can keep standing when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire, ¹  like a launderer’s soap.

He will act like a refiner and purifier of silver and will cleanse the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will offer the Lord a proper offering.

They said to him, “He will utterly destroy those evil men! Then he will lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his portion at the harvest.”

What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy ¹  those tenants and give the vineyard to others. ²

because you will not leave my soul in Hades, ¹  nor permit your Holy One to experience ²  decay.

David by foreseeing this ¹  spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, ²  that he was neither abandoned to Hades, ³  nor did his body ⁴  experience ⁵  decay. ⁶ 

They are filled ¹  with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice. They are rife with ²  envy, murder, strife, deceit, hostility. They are gossips,

But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, ¹  forgiving ²  us our sins and cleansing ³  us from all unrighteousness.

By his treachery ¹  he will succeed through deceit. ²  He will have an arrogant attitude, ³  and he will destroy many who are unaware of his schemes. ⁴  He will rise up against the Prince of princes, yet he will be broken apart – but not by human agency. ⁵ 

So ¹  I looked ²  and here came ³  a pale green ⁴  horse! The ⁵  name of the one who rode it ⁶  was Death, and Hades followed right behind. ⁷  They ⁸  were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill its population with the sword, ⁹  famine, and disease, and by the wild animals of the earth.

He ¹  will speak for you to the people, and it will be as if ²  he ³  were your mouth ⁴  and as if you were his God. ⁵ 

But if he does not wash his clothes ¹  and does not bathe his body, he will bear his punishment for iniquity.’” ² 

I will provide pasture ¹  for your livestock and you will eat your fill.”

He will infect you with all the diseases of Egypt ¹  that you dreaded, and they will persistently afflict you. ² 

He will demand a tenth of your seed and of the produce of your vineyards and give it to his administrators ¹  and his servants.

He will go back the way he came. He will not enter this city,” says the Lord.

“Surely, God does not reject a blameless man, ¹  nor does he grasp the hand ²  of the evildoers.

As for me, I know that my Redeemer ¹  lives, and that as the last ²  he will stand upon the earth. ³ 

If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; ¹  if you remove wicked behavior far from your tent,
