and tossed ¹  Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea, for his loyal love endures,

And you will be like one who lies down in the midst ¹  of the sea, and like one who lies down on the top of the rigging. ² 

Lament, ¹  you residents of the coast, you merchants of Sidon ²  who travel over the sea, whose agents sail over

They ¹  lift their voices and shout joyfully; they praise ²  the majesty of the Lord in the west.

The sea has swept over Babylon. She has been covered by a multitude ¹  of its waves. ² 

They will bring you down to the pit, and you will die violently ¹  in the heart of the seas.

You made people like fish in the sea, like animals in the sea ¹  that have no ruler.

The seacoast ¹  will be used as pasture lands ²  by the shepherds and as pens for their flocks.

God called the dry ground “land” ¹  and the gathered waters he called “seas.” God saw that it was good.
