I testify about myself ¹  and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”

Jesus answered, “I am not possessed by a demon, ¹  but I honor my Father – and yet ²  you dishonor me.

I am not trying to get ¹  praise for myself. ²  There is one who demands ³  it, and he also judges. ⁴ 

So Jesus said to them again, “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  I am the door for the sheep. ² 

“I am the good shepherd. I ¹  know my own ²  and my own know me –

This is why the Father loves me ¹  – because I lay down my life, ²  so that I may take it back again.

I am telling you this now, ¹  before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe ²  that I am he. ³ 

“I am the true vine ¹  and my Father is the gardener. ² 

I glorified you on earth by completing ¹  the work you gave me to do. ² 

So when Jesus ¹  said to them, “I am he,” they retreated ²  and fell to the ground. ³ 

Jesus replied, ¹  “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for ²  me, let these men ³  go.” ⁴ 

So he said, “Who are you, Lord?” He replied, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting!

But get up, ¹  go down, and accompany them without hesitation, ²  because I have sent them.”

But Peter helped him up, ¹  saying, “Stand up. I too am a mere mortal.” ² 

that this promise ¹  God has fulfilled to us, their children, by raising ²  Jesus, as also it is written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son; ³  today I have fathered you.’ ⁴ 

“Therefore I conclude ¹  that we should not cause extra difficulty ²  for those among the Gentiles ³  who are turning to God,

I know that after I am gone ¹  fierce wolves ²  will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

When his accusers stood up, they did not charge ¹  him with any of the evil deeds I had suspected. ² 

Of course, ¹  I myself was convinced ²  that it was necessary to do many things hostile to the name of Jesus the Nazarene.

I will rescue ¹  you from your own people ²  and from the Gentiles, to whom ³  I am sending you
