Am I saying these things only on the basis of common sense, ¹  or does the law not say this as well?

But you should be eager for the greater gifts. And now I will show you a way that is beyond comparison. ¹

as also in another place God ¹  says, “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” ² 

and he was designated ¹  by God as high priest in the order of Melchizedek. ²
