¹ Some traveled on ²  the sea in ships, and carried cargo over the vast waters. ³ 

Praise him, O highest heaven, and you waters above the sky! ¹ 

Then God enabled Hagar to see a well of water. ¹  She went over and filled the skin with water, and then gave the boy a drink.

“‘These you can eat from all creatures that are in the water: Any creatures in the water that have both fins and scales, ¹  whether in the seas or in the streams, ²  you may eat.

The priest will then take holy water ¹  in a pottery jar, and take some ²  of the dust ³  that is on the floor of the tabernacle, and put it into the water.

The leading men of the cities send their servants for water. They go to the cisterns, ¹  but they do not find any water there. They return with their containers ²  empty. Disappointed and dismayed, they bury their faces in their hands. ³

When the feet ¹  of the priests carrying the ark of the Lord, the Ruler ²  of the whole earth, touch ³  the water of the Jordan, the water coming downstream toward you will stop flowing and pile up.” ⁴ 

He said to me, “These waters go out toward the eastern region and flow down into the Arabah; when they enter the Dead Sea, ¹  where the sea is stagnant, ²  the waters become fresh. ³ 

He made the camels kneel down by the well ¹  outside the city. It was evening, ²  the time when the women would go out to draw water.

By the blast of your nostrils ¹  the waters were piled up, the flowing water stood upright like a heap, ²  and the deep waters were solidified in the heart of the sea.

The waters ¹  saw you, O God, the waters saw you and trembled. ²  Yes, the depths of the sea ³  shook with fear. ⁴ 

What good will it do you ¹  then ²  to go down to Egypt to seek help from the Egyptians? ³  What good will it do you ⁴  to go over to Assyria to seek help from the Assyrians? ⁵ 

You are a garden spring, ¹  a well ²  of fresh water ³  flowing down from Lebanon.

Bring out some water for the thirsty. You who live in the land of Tema, bring some food for the fugitives.

Jesus told the servants, ¹  “Fill the water jars with water.” So they filled them up to the very top.

Then ¹  the angel ²  showed me the river of the water of life – water as clear as crystal – pouring out ³  from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

From there they traveled to Gudgodah, ¹  and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, ²  a place of flowing streams.

What man is like Job, who ¹  drinks derision ²  like water!
