Even when my strength leaves me, ¹  you watch my footsteps. ²  In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.

I set a trap for you, Babylon; you were caught before you knew it. You fought against me. So you were found and captured. ¹ 

The hungry ¹  eat up his harvest, ²  and take it even from behind the thorns, ³  and the thirsty ⁴  swallow up ⁵  their fortune. ⁶ 

Deliver yourself like a gazelle from a snare, ¹  and like a bird from the trap ²  of the fowler.

You must burn the images of their gods, but do not covet the silver and gold that covers them so much that you take it for yourself and thus become ensnared by it; for it is abhorrent ¹  to the Lord your God.

But the woman said to him, “Look, you are aware of what Saul has done; he has removed ¹  the mediums and magicians ²  from the land! Why are you trapping me ³  so you can put me to death?”

But these people are looted and plundered; all of them are trapped in pits ¹  and held captive ²  in prisons. They were carried away as loot with no one to rescue them; they were carried away as plunder, and no one says, “Bring that back!” ³ 

The ropes of death tightened around me, ¹  the snares ²  of Sheol confronted me. I was confronted ³  with trouble and sorrow.

those who bear false testimony against a person, ¹  who entrap the one who arbitrates at the city gate ²  and deprive the innocent of justice by making false charges. ³ 

“Indeed, there are wicked scoundrels among my people. They lie in wait like bird catchers hiding in ambush. ¹  They set deadly traps ²  to catch people.

Let the wicked fall ¹  into their ²  own nets, while I escape. ³ 

ר (Resh) Our very life breath – the Lord’s anointed king ¹  – was caught in their traps, ²  of whom we thought, ³  “Under his protection ⁴  we will survive among the nations.”

“How long until you ¹  make an end of words? ²  You must consider, ³  and then ⁴  we can talk.

(40:25) ¹  “Can you pull in ²  Leviathan with a hook, and tie down ³  its tongue with a rope?

The nations fell ¹  into the pit they had made; their feet were caught in the net they had hidden. ² 

I continually look to the Lord for help, ¹  for he will free my feet from the enemy’s net. ² 

for the Lord will be ¹  the source of your confidence, ²  and he will guard your foot ³  from being caught in a trap. ⁴ 

Scornful people ¹  inflame ²  a city, ³  but those who are wise turn away wrath.

but we preach about a crucified Christ, ¹  a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.

After they have been destroyed from your presence, be careful not to be ensnared like they are; do not pursue their gods and say, “How do these nations serve their gods? I will do the same.”
