Not to us, O Lord, not to us! But to your name bring honor, ²  for the sake of your loyal love and faithfulness. ³ 

I acted for the sake of my reputation, so that I would not be profaned before the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.

I would rather appeal ¹  to you on the basis of love – I, Paul, an old man ²  and even now a prisoner for the sake of Christ Jesus ³  –

Relent, Lord, rescue me! ¹  Deliver me because of your faithfulness! ² 

who ¹  have risked their lives ²  for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. ³ 

Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath of the authorities ¹  but also because of your conscience. ² 

For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus ¹  for the sake of you Gentiles –
