yet it prepares its food in the summer; it gathers at the harvest what it will eat. ¹ 

One person is generous ¹  and yet grows more wealthy, ²  but another withholds more than he should ³  and comes to poverty. ⁴ 

There is a generation who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not washed ¹  from their filthiness. ² 

though it never saw the light of day ¹  nor knew anything, ²  yet it has more rest ³  than that man –

if he should live a thousand years twice, yet does not enjoy his prosperity. For both of them die! ¹ 

It has tried my patience; ¹  yet its thick rot is not removed ²  from it. Subject its rot to the fire! ³ 

But John ¹  tried to prevent ²  him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and yet you come to me?”

Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these!

For what benefit is it for a person ¹  to gain the whole world, yet ²  forfeit his life?

Yet ¹  another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say goodbye to my family.” ² 

Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? ¹  Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

They will flog him severely ¹  and kill him. Yet ²  on the third day he will rise again.”

“Father, if you are willing, take ¹  this cup ²  away from me. Yet not my will but yours ³  be done.”

Jesus answered, ¹  “Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you don’t understand these things? ² 

Jesus replied, ¹  “Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is the devil?” ² 

Jesus answered, “I am not possessed by a demon, ¹  but I honor my Father – and yet ²  you dishonor me.

They replied, ¹  “You were born completely in sinfulness, ²  and yet you presume to teach us?” ³  So they threw him out.

Yet the Most High ¹  does not live in houses made by human hands, ²  as the prophet says,

I fed you milk, ¹  not solid food, for you were not yet ready. In fact, you are still not ready,

If someone thinks he knows something, he does not yet know to the degree that he needs to know.
