After these days we got ready ¹  and started up ²  to Jerusalem.

The Jews also joined in the verbal attack, ¹  claiming ²  that these things were true.

No, in all these things we have complete victory ¹  through him ²  who loved us!

But these assets I have come to regard as liabilities because of Christ.

these are only ¹  the shadow of the things to come, but the reality ²  is Christ! ³ 

Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience. ¹ 

And to all these ¹  virtues ²  add ³  love, which is the perfect bond. ⁴ 

Some have strayed from these and turned away to empty discussion.

I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these instructions ¹  to you

Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that everyone will see your progress. ¹ 

Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

And these all were commended ¹  for their faith, yet they did not receive what was promised. ² 

Thus ¹  we are writing these things so that ²  our ³  joy may be complete. ⁴ 

These things I have written to you about those who are trying to deceive you. ¹ 

the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three are in agreement.

Therefore write what you saw, what is, and what will be after these things. ¹ 

The first woe has passed, but ¹  two woes are still coming after these things!

But I have told you these things ¹  so that when their time ²  comes, you will remember that I told you about them. ³  “I did not tell you these things from the beginning because I was with you. ⁴ 

These Jews ¹  were more open-minded ²  than those in Thessalonica, ³  for they eagerly ⁴  received ⁵  the message, examining ⁶  the scriptures carefully every day ⁷  to see if these things were so.

Because I was at a loss ¹  how I could investigate these matters, ²  I asked if he were willing to go to Jerusalem and be tried ³  there on these charges. ⁴
