He did not humble himself before the Lord as his father Manasseh had done. ¹  Amon was guilty of great sin. ² 

I ¹  have not even permitted my mouth ²  to sin by asking ³  for his life through a curse –

For he adds transgression ¹  to his sin; in our midst he claps his hands, ²  and multiplies his words against God.”

If you sin, how does it affect God? ¹  If your transgressions are many, what does it do to him? ² 

Tremble with fear and do not sin! ¹  Meditate as you lie in bed, and repent of your ways! ²  (Selah)

He must not place olive oil on it and he must not put frankincense on it, because it is a sin offering.

In the fourth generation ¹  your descendants ²  will return here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its limit.” ³ 

So now, forgive my sin this time only, and pray to the Lord your God that he would only ¹  take this death ²  away from me.”

They must not live in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare ¹  to you.”

Moses said to Aaron, “What did this people do to you, that you have brought on them so great a sin?”

So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Alas, this people has committed a very serious sin, ¹  and they have made for themselves gods of gold.
