While he was saying this to me, ¹  I was flat on ²  the ground and unable to speak.

Archers ¹  will not hold their ground; ²  fast runners will not save their lives, nor will those who ride horses. ³

So now, you are banished ¹  from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

When you try to cultivate ¹  the ground it will no longer yield ²  its best ³  for you. You will be a homeless wanderer ⁴  on the earth.”

So he overthrew those cities and all that region, ¹  including all the inhabitants of the cities and the vegetation that grew ²  from the ground.

But Jacob ¹  himself went on ahead of them, and he bowed toward the ground seven times as he approached ²  his brother.

“Get away from this community, so that I can consume them in an instant!” But they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. ¹
