When you send your life-giving breath, they are created, and you replenish the surface of the ground.

Their life’s breath departs, they return to the ground; on that day their plans die. ¹ 

Men bow down to them in homage, they lie flat on the ground in worship. ¹  Don’t spare them! ² 

Does a farmer just keep on plowing at planting time? ¹  Does he keep breaking up and harrowing his ground?

I trampled nations in my anger, I made them drunk ¹  in my rage, I splashed their blood on the ground.” ² 

Then I looked, ¹  and I saw one wheel ²  on the ground ³  beside each of the four beings.

While he was saying this to me, ¹  I was flat on ²  the ground and unable to speak.

Archers ¹  will not hold their ground; ²  fast runners will not save their lives, nor will those who ride horses. ³ 

The ¹  seed sown on rocky ground ²  is the person who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy.

When the disciples heard this, they were overwhelmed with fear and threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. ¹ 

so ¹  I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’

These are the ones sown on rocky ground: As soon as they hear the word, they receive it with joy.

He ¹  fell with his face to the ground ²  at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. ³  (Now ⁴  he was a Samaritan.) ⁵ 

And in his anguish ¹  he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.] ² 

He ¹  fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, ²  why are you persecuting me?” ³ 

Then I ¹  fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’

And the four living creatures were saying “Amen,” and the elders threw themselves to the ground ¹  and worshiped.

They covered ¹  the surface ²  of all the ground, so that the ground became dark with them, ³  and they ate all the vegetation of the ground and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. Nothing green remained on the trees or on anything that grew in the fields throughout the whole land of Egypt.

God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place ¹  and let dry ground appear.” ²  It was so.

The Lord God formed ¹  the man from the soil of the ground ²  and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, ³  and the man became a living being. ⁴
