I know that you are bringing ¹  me to death, to the meeting place for all the living.

But if they refuse to listen, they pass over the river of death, ¹  and expire without knowledge.

Have the gates of death been revealed to you? ¹  Have you seen the gates of deepest darkness? ² 

No man can live on without experiencing death, or deliver his life from the power of Sheol. ¹  (Selah)

If the Lord had not helped me, I would have laid down in the silence of death. ¹ 

The dead do not praise the Lord, nor do any of those who descend into the silence of death. ¹ 

The ropes of death tightened around me, ¹  the snares ²  of Sheol confronted me. I was confronted ³  with trouble and sorrow.

But the one who does not find me ¹  brings harm ²  to himself; ³  all who hate me ⁴  love death.”

True ¹  righteousness leads to ²  life, but the one who pursues evil pursues it ³  to his own death. ⁴ 

There is a way that seems right to a person, ¹  but its end is the way that leads to death. ² 

The wicked will be thrown down in his trouble, ¹  but the righteous have refuge ²  even in the threat of death. ³ 

A king’s wrath ¹  is like ²  a messenger of death, ³  but a wise person appeases it. ⁴ 

There is a way that seems right to a person, ¹  but its end is the way that leads to death. ² 

Death and life are in the power ¹  of the tongue, ²  and those who love its use ³  will eat its fruit.

Discipline your child, for ¹  there is hope, but do not set your heart ²  on causing his death. ³ 

Making a fortune ¹  by a lying tongue is like ²  a vapor driven back and forth; ³  they seek death. ⁴ 

For I take no delight in the death of anyone, ¹  declares the sovereign Lord. Repent and live!

Wail ¹  like a young virgin ²  clothed in sackcloth, lamenting the death of ³  her husband-to-be. ⁴
