Any man who rebels against what you say and does not obey all your commands will be executed. ¹  But ²  be strong and brave!”

They were left to test Israel, so the Lord would know if his people would obey the commands he gave their ancestors through Moses. ¹

O Lord, teach me how you want me to live! ¹  Then I will obey your commands. ²  Make me wholeheartedly committed to you! ³

The Lord who commands armies told me this: ¹  “Many houses will certainly become desolate, large, impressive houses will have no one living in them. ²
