The city remained under siege until Zedekiah’s eleventh year.

What my eyes see ¹  grieves me ²  – all the suffering of the daughters in my city. ³ 

The elders are gone from the city gate; the young men have stopped playing their music.

You have killed many people in this city; you have filled its streets with corpses.’

(A city by the name of Hamonah ¹  will also be there.) They will cleanse the land.’

The workers of the city from all the tribes of Israel will cultivate it.

The Israelites ¹  hate anyone who arbitrates at the city gate; ²  they despise anyone who speaks honestly.

The remaining 27,000 ran to Aphek and went into the city, but the wall fell on them. ¹  Now Ben Hadad ran into the city and hid in an inner room. ²
