The Spirit of God rushed upon Saul when he heard these words, and he became very angry.

On that day the army struck down the Philistines from Micmash to Aijalon, and they became very tired.

David came to Saul and stood before him. Saul liked him a great deal, ¹  and he became his armor bearer.

When Saul and all the Israelites ¹  heard these words of the Philistine, they were upset and very afraid.
