But this has happened so that ¹  the scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

Jesus ¹  was going through the grain fields on a Sabbath, and his disciples began to pick some heads of wheat ²  as they made their way.

His disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing against you and you say, ‘Who touched me?’”

When it was already late, his disciples came to him and said, “This is an isolated place ¹  and it is already very late.

Then, ¹  after he went into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

He said to it, ¹  “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it. ² 

So ¹  the disciples left, went ²  into the city, and found things just as he had told them, ³  and they prepared the Passover.

Jesus ¹  was going through the grain fields on ²  a Sabbath, ³  and his disciples picked some heads of wheat, ⁴  rubbed them in their hands, and ate them. ⁵ 

Soon ¹  afterward ²  Jesus ³  went to a town ⁴  called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went with him.

Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven and consume ¹  them?” ² 

Then ¹  Jesus ²  went out and made his way, ³  as he customarily did, to the Mount of Olives, ⁴  and the disciples followed him.

After this he went down to Capernaum ¹  with his mother and brothers ²  and his disciples, and they stayed there a few days.

After this, ¹  Jesus and his disciples came into Judean territory, and there he spent time with them and was baptizing.

When Jesus was aware ¹  that his disciples were complaining ²  about this, he said to them, “Does this cause you to be offended? ³ 

Then Jesus said to those Judeans ¹  who had believed him, “If you continue to follow my teaching, ²  you are really ³  my disciples

His disciples asked him, ¹  “Rabbi, who committed the sin that caused him to be born blind, this man ²  or his parents?” ³ 

He answered, ¹  “I told you already and you didn’t listen. ²  Why do you want to hear it ³  again? You people ⁴  don’t want to become his disciples too, do you?”

When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. ¹ 

When it was already very early morning, Jesus stood on the beach, but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

At that time Jesus went through the grain fields on a Sabbath. His ¹  disciples were hungry, and they began to pick heads of wheat ²  and eat them.
