but in every nation ¹  the person who fears him ²  and does what is right ³  is welcomed before him.

For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous before God, but those who do the law will be declared righteous. ¹ 

How then was it credited to him? Was he circumcised at the time, or not? No, he was not circumcised but uncircumcised!

Why not? Because they pursued ¹  it not by faith but (as if it were possible) by works. ²  They stumbled over the stumbling stone, ³ 

But not all have obeyed the good news, for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” ¹ 

My conversation and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

And we speak about these things, not with words taught us by human wisdom, but with those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. ¹ 

So, brothers and sisters, ¹  I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but instead as people of the flesh, ²  as infants in Christ.

So neither the one who plants counts for anything, ¹  nor the one who waters, but God who causes the growth.

So for me, it is a minor matter that I am judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.

For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted because of this. The one who judges me is the Lord.

So then, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of vice and evil, but with the bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth. ¹ 

Were you called as a slave? ¹  Do not worry about it. But if indeed you are able to be free, make the most of the opportunity.

To those free from the law I became like one free from the law (though I am not free from God’s law but under the law of Christ) to gain those free from the law.

But God was not pleased with most of them, for they were cut down in the wilderness.

Not that we are adequate ¹  in ourselves to consider anything as if it were coming from ourselves, but our adequacy ²  is from God,

But as God’s servants, ¹  we have commended ourselves in every way, ²  with great endurance, in persecutions, ³  in difficulties, in distresses,

But God, who encourages ¹  the downhearted, encouraged ²  us by the arrival of Titus.

What I am saying with this boastful confidence ¹  I do not say the way the Lord would. ²  Instead it is, as it were, foolishness.

But the law is not based on faith, ¹  but the one who does the works of the law ²  will live by them. ³
