I was in the Spirit ¹  on the Lord’s Day ²  when ³  I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,

because the great day of their ¹  wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?” ² 

and began to shout ¹  when they saw the smoke from the fire that burned her up, ²  “Who is like the great city?”

the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, and on those who sit in the region and shadow of death a light has dawned.” ¹ 

not by earth, because it is his footstool, and not by Jerusalem, ¹  because it is the city of the great King.

And a great storm developed on the sea so that the waves began to swamp the boat. But he was asleep.

But ¹  he said to them, “Why are you cowardly, you people of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked ²  the winds and the sea, ³  and it was dead calm.

But Jesus called them and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in high positions use their authority over them.

For then there will be great suffering ¹  unlike anything that has happened ²  from the beginning of the world until now, or ever will happen.

and placed it ¹  in his own new tomb that he had cut in the rock. ²  Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance ³  of the tomb and went away.

Suddenly there was a severe earthquake, for an angel of the Lord ¹  descending from heaven came and rolled away the stone and sat on it.

So ¹  he got up and rebuked ²  the wind, and said to the sea, ³  “Be quiet! Calm down!” Then ⁴  the wind stopped, and it was dead calm.

They were overwhelmed by fear and said to one another, “Who then is this? ¹  Even the wind and sea obey him!” ² 

Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left on another. ¹  All will be torn down!” ² 

for he will be great in the sight of ¹  the Lord. He ²  must never drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth. ³ 

He ¹  will be great, ²  and will be called the Son of the Most High, ³  and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father ⁴  David.

She ¹  exclaimed with a loud voice, ²  “Blessed are you among women, ³  and blessed is the child ⁴  in your womb!

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, ¹  for I proclaim to you good news ²  that brings great joy to all the people:

Then ¹  Levi gave a great banquet ²  in his house for Jesus, ³  and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sitting ⁴  at the table with them.

Then ¹  he said, ‘I ²  will do this: I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
