except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua son of Nun, for they followed the Lord wholeheartedly.’

When the entire nation was on the other side, ¹  the Lord told Joshua,

So six hundred Danites, fully armed, set out from Zorah and Eshtaol. ¹

Who can adequately recount the Lord’s mighty acts, or relate all his praiseworthy deeds? ¹ 

You demand that your precepts be carefully kept. ¹ 

I keep your precepts and rules, for you are aware of everything I do. ¹ 

The appetite ¹  of the sluggard ²  craves ³  but gets nothing, but the desire of the diligent will be abundantly satisfied. ⁴ 

The heart knows its own bitterness, ¹  and with its joy no one else ²  can share. ³ 

The backslider ¹  will be paid back ²  from his own ways, but a good person will be rewarded ³  for his.

The sound of battle comes from the city; the sound comes from the temple! It is the sound of the Lord paying back his enemies.

I will provide the priests with abundant provisions. ¹  My people will be filled to the full with the good things I provide.”
